FAQs
How do I measure for a pool cover and determine the motor side?
Accurate track measurements (width and length) are needed to correctly manufacture the cover for the best possible operation. Motor side is needed so that the gears operate the correct direction. Click here for more detail on how to measure.
Why are there wrinkles, what is slack and how is that measured?
Slack is necessary for an automatic pool cover to be considered a safety cover. Slack is determined based on how wide the cover is. We add the cover slack and roller wrap automatically during quoting. Click here for more information.
What is the warranty on a cover?
- Fabric Warranty: Coverstar offers a 7 year limited warranty on its fabric. This warranty includes things that other manufacturers don’t. For example, the heat seal of the webbing to the fabric. All other manufacturers sew their webbing to their fabric with thread that can often go bad before the cover needs to be replaced. Coverstar heat seals its webbing directly to the fabric and is covered under the same warranty as the cover materials itself.
- Rope Warranty: PowerFlex rope is the latest in rope technology and is covered by a 2-year no-break warranty.
- Mechanism Warranty: Coverstar’s Eclipse mechanism is covered under a 20 year limited warranty. CS3000, SwimWise and Coverluxe mechanisms are covered under a 10 year limited warranty.
- Motor/Electronics Warranty: The motor is covered under a 5 year limited warranty. Other electrical components are covered under a three year limited warranty.
What fabric color provides the most benefit?
All our fabric colors come with the same manufacturer warranty. Darker colors tend to show more dirt than lighter colors. Depending on your location, darker colors may heat the water more than other colors. View our color options here.
How do I adjust the cover/ropes?
Rope adjustments are needed when the cover is not closing straight or even. See our instructions on how to adjust the rope here.
